Legal to put an RB25DET into a 240sx?

The reason im asking is because im planning to buy a RB25DET (Skyline Engine) for 3.5 Grand and dropping into a 97" 240sx chis. I heard a lot of things on whether it was legal or not and i was just the straight answer since i dont want my work sent into the dreaded CRUSHER.
