Do other horses protect or suround a mare that is in labour?

I honestly dont think so because dont mares go off and want to be alone when there going to have the foal. My horse is pregnant and my dad said to check on my horse after work cuz she looked like she was going to have the baby which i honestly doubted it cuz her udder never got any bigger over the week. when i was going to see my horses my dads girlfriend called and said not to go in the pen cuz the other horses will be protecting her and i might get trampled, i never listened any ways lol cuz who is she to tell me not to go in to my horses corral, and like i said before if she was going to have the baby then wouldnt she want to be alone. plus my dads girlfriend bought 2 horses and my dolly and jack want nothing to do with her horses so i think it would be hard for them to protect her lol. so have you heard that before? also i while bk she also said not to go in the corral on my period when my dad, brother and me still had our stud cuz he would try and hump me, like that sounds more like a folks tale lol. my family and i had him since he was a newborn up to 6 years old and he has never tried to hurt me or try to "mount" me.
