I want to make my cat a tunnel and would like to know what the crackle liners are made of.?

the liner material is sewn between two layers of fabric and makes the toy or tunnel sound crackly-crinkly. Short of buying one and taking it apart, I can't seem to find any info on what this is actually made of, other than it is washable...any help is MUCH appreciated.
