What kind of clothes to bring to Marseille from mid-Sept. to spring? (ie: how hot/cold/rainy will it be)? ?

I don't know what kind of clothes to bring with me to Marseille. Will it still be really hot when I arrive in mid-sept? When does it start getting chilly? What is typically fall attire? (ie: jeans and t-shirt OR jeans and Sweatshirt and scarf). In the winter, is it really cold? (ie: Scarves, hats, and coats?) or do people just wear light jackets. Thanks!
