Went off birth control 3.5 weeks ago, bleeding constantly. Expected to start my period in 4 days...info?

I decided to go off birth control, after the first week of that decision I decided to take it again...which was for three days then stopped. I was a little indecisive about the choice. I have been bleeding off and on since I stopped though, it's pretty heavy bleeding. I had unprotected within the first week after stopping, and also two days ago. Yesterday afternoon I stopped bleeding, and it hasn't returned. Could I get pregnant? Because I was bleeding so much, will it take me a while to ovulate?? I know if takes a while for the sperm and the egg to meet, could it be that now that I'm not bleeding I'm ovulating?
