New Fish tank cycle, bad info?

So I am starting one my of my 46 gallon salt water bow front tanks over again (want to use RO/UV water). Its a FO (going to have 2 pieces of Live rock so if you want to call it a FOWLR go ahead) but mostly a FO tank. In any case, I went to PETCO and the guy there told me I need to drop in some brine shrimp here and there to "Cycle" it? Is this true? I do not plan on putting any fish back in it for about a full month, maybe longer so I cleaned all the equipment with RO/UV (Ultra Violet) water and started it running again. I pretty much cleaned everything. Do I need to drop in some brine shrimp every now and then to cycle the tank or not?
